The Maestro
He then made the suggestion that I take that comment, and allow God to do just that with a particular chapter that I was working on. I got this sudden thrill in my heart and just knew that I had to get home from work and write just as fast as I could. I didn’t hesitate once I walked in the door. Oh my!
As I sat down, I began with just a few words and then I closed my eyes and whispered a prayer for God’s anointing. As I sat there things began to flow. I could see in my mind the very thing that I was writing about. I could see God step up to the platform just as a conductor does. He was standing before a full orchestra. Quietly, and with such an air of expectancy I watched. He looked at everyone and they watched with rapt attention. Waiting for His cue. He raised his baton and the sweetest sound came forth from those instruments. I knew in my heart that it was more than just a simple melody.
It was Liz’s song. It was so familiar to me, but new. As I sat in awe of what I was seeing and hearing, I felt God speak to my heart and tell me that all that I have been striving to do, in the writing of this book about my precious daughter, Liz, He has been directing it and preparing it for the exact audience that needs to hear it. It is a melody that will linger in your mind and heart.
Oh my. I was so overcome with the possibility that I just sat and sobbed. I know that God has plans for me, and for what He has given me to do, but even more than that, He has plans for ALL of us.
We all have a story, whether we think we do or not. Why not let God be the one that directs us and makes our story into a beautiful symphony that will minister to the hearts and ears of those listening?
Yes, be still and know that He has a plan for you!

I'm Baaaaak!
Happy Valentines Day! To all of you but most of all to MY Valentine--Jeff
When we got married 29 years ago, I thought I knew what LOVE was...I did in a manner of speaking, but now, well WOW! Here is what we looked like waaaay back then.
We just got back from our favorite place on earth...Naples Florida! We had an absolutely marvelous time. That is our therapy. Gives us a whole new view of life.
It is our first night and he is already looking less stressed!
Our favorite beach Lowdermilk Park.
We had a marvelous time and are anxiously waiting to visit again!
The Writing for the Soul Conference
We no sooner go home from Florida, then I had to get ready to leave for Denver and the conference. It felt as though anything that could prevent me from going was happening. I tried to open files on my computer...they wouldn't open. I tried to print out files from another computer and from my MAC...nothing. I was so frustrated. I almost decided to NOT go. I knew I had a lot of money involved in this conference, so figured I had to go.
I have a ten
I may not be in the photo, but I was close enough to take this picture. I did speak to him a couple of times and rode in the elevator with him with two other people, so I guess I could say I had a "captive" audience. Ha.
There were a number of speakers there. The first evening one of my favorite female speakers-- Liz Curtis Higgs. She is the author of the Bad Girls of the Bible books and several more, Those are some of the best books! She was so funny. Had us cracking up.
Next we had Ken Davis. Oh my word I have not laughed that hard in I couldn't tell you how long. I thought Liz was funny, but Ken had us nearly rolling on the floor. That was the second night. He spoke again on Saturday. He once again had us laughing until he told us the story about going camping with his grandchildren. His youngest grand daughter ended up disappearing.
OH GOD NOT THAT!
My heart went to my knees at the same time the tears began in
He had one of those pauses for effect, and oh my what an effect it had.
He went on the tell the rest of the story that she was found. WHEW. I spoke with him on Sunday morning. I told him how it hit me because of Liz having been abducted. We spoke for a few minutes. He said he would be following my story! Are you kidding me? WOW!
On Saturday evening they had a panel discussion with Dennis Hensley, Ken Davis, McNair Wilson and Jerry Jenkins. They were very good and answered many questions that go through writers minds! I found it very valuable.
I also had the opportunity to meet a lady that I was familiar with because of the Women Inspired--Two Minutes to Greatness Ministry that I posted about back in December. Here is a picture of Sandra Aldrich and I. Please be sure to look back to a coupld of posts ago to see more about this ministry.
I have more to share about my trip that I will share in the next post!

Florida Vacation and Denver bound
Jeff and I pulled into our driveway at 12:45 a.m last night from five of the most wonderful days of vacation. We went to our all-time favorite spot to vacation...Naples Florida! We had someone here to watch over the house and the animals, and felt sure that we had no worries. The guys at our business are very trustworthy, and we NEVER got one phone call about problems! Thanks guys for helping to make our vacation a true vacation. You all know that Jeff would have been crazy if there were problems back here.
Thanks to our friends Bob and Phyllis for allowing us to use their condo. What a lovely place to go and feel so at home.
On Thursday, February 10, I leave for the Writing For The Soul Conference in Denver. Jeff will be here as I travel this time. I know I ask for your prayers a lot in regard to the book Through My Tears. I would however covet any and all prayers sent up on behalf of my trip and finding a publisher and receiving help in the field of writing! I love attending these conferences. You learn so much, and glean from those that you talk to. This is the first time I have attending this particular conference. My friend, Virelle Kidder suggested I go. She has taught there, and holds this in very high regard. Her friend and mentor, Jerry Jenkins puts this conference on, and I am truly looking forward to attending! Perhaps I'll have the opportunity to meet Jerry. I have had correspondence with him prior to deciding to attend, so perhaps I'll speak to him face-to-face this time.
I will also get to see T. Suzanne Eller once again. We met at the Colorado Christian Writers Conference two years ago. What a great woman of God she is and also willing to be a mentor to those of us that need help. I plan on being first in line for help! If you would like to see more information in regard to this conference go to www.christianwritersguild.com
I will attempt to post something from Denver to update this blog!

An opportunity to minister
In other news, I will be attending the Writer's Guild's conference Writing For The Soul in Denver in February. I am hoping to find more information for publishing my book Through My Tears.
Over the past ten years I have learned so much. A lot about what God is doing through this story. In my life as well as in the lives of many others. I am anxious to go and learn more about the craft of writing. I have so many ideas rolling around in my head, and have three books in the works, but I feel as though before I can go any further, I MUST be obedient and get TMT finished and published. Again I would covet your prayers for meeting with the right people that can point me in the direction I need to go from here. I still have so much to learn about writing, and I love doing it, but feel so very inadequate in doing so.
I know, you have heard this before. And more than likely you will hear it again. I will always need to be learning something about doing this "writing thing". Besides being called to minister to people in grief, through grief support and mentoring, I believe with my whole heart this book will do just that!
Hoping to return from Denver with some answers!

It's Christmas time!
Time goes so fast!
This year is going to be very different for us. Many family members will be gone, and two of our three sons will not be home for Christmas eve or Christmas day. Makes me rather melancholy. I do get to see them the week following Christmas though!
This year has brought about many changes in my life. I have grown in many ways, and learned quite a lot! I continue to marvel at what God is teaching me.
As God continues to bring opportunities for Jeff and I to share our testimony, I am thankful for all the people that I meet. Each one has brought something special into my life and heart. I look forward to the special things that I will be doing in 2011.
We will be at the Bolivar Wesleyan Church on Sunday, January 23. Sharing at the morning service at 10:30.
I am learning to produce the Circle of Friends radio program on 95.9 the Light. I will also be attending another Writer's conference in February. I am hoping to be involved in the Ministry that I posted about in the previous post. I am writing a few things to record for it.
Along with that, I will also attend the Circle of Friends Conference on February 26, 2011.
Love Me Back To Life is the theme this year. It will be held at Fisher Auditorium in Wooster, Ohio. For more information go to www.circleoffriends.fm.
That will keep me busy until March, when I get to help cater for another Married Life Live at NewPointe church.
I will also be moving the GriefShare classes to Monday and adding a morning class for those that do not like to drive at night. If you are interested, be sure to contact the church for more information. Classes begin on Monday, January 3. 9:00 a.m. and again at 5:30 p.m.
Needless to say, my year continues to be busy, but I am looking forward to it!
Well, I will close this post here and wish you all a very blessed Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
